ABOUT BETHANY

Bethany has been providing mental health services to children and their families since 2006. She has served families in their homes, schools, and community in addition to a Portland-based clinic that provides integrated healthcare to children with special needs.   Bethany has been given the opportunity to guest lecture at Portland State University and served as adjunct faculty for North Central University in Minneapolis, MN from 2009-2014.  Bethany is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, holds a Master of Social Work degree from Augsburg College in Minnesota, and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy and Health Psychology from the University of Northwestern. She has post graduate training in Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder [ADHD], Solution Focused Brief Therapy [SFBT], Collaborative Problem Solving, EMDR, and Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy [TF-CBT].   

Outside of work, Bethany is a wife, mother, step mother and grandmother.  She enjoys traveling, cooking, reading, watching movies, singing in the MN Valley Women’s Chorale, learning, exploring, eating delicious food, walking in the woods, and the Oregon coast.   

TREATMENT APPROACH

Uecker Counseling, LLC offers mental health services to adults, children, adolescents, parents and families utilizing a variety of theoretical perspectives and evidence-based practice modalities including, but not limited to: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Brief Solution Focused Therapy, Collaborative Problem Solving, and Family Systems Therapy.

  • School advocacy and help with special education services and Individualized Education Planning/Section 504 Planning

  • Support groups and educational groups with topics including self-care and social skills and time management.

  • Parenting support emphasizing self-care & positive parenting

  • Mental health consultation/diagnosis

  • School observation/consultation

  • Case management and care coordination for families with complex care needs

  • Collaborating with other providers (OT, Early Intervention etc).

  • Referral to community resources

  • Free presentations for schools and community organizations

  • Home visits (as needed)
